Salary: Starting Salary is £33,945 (Level one) rising to £36,648 (Level four) per annum (pro rata for part-time).

About the Role

The post holder will be working for Nottingham City Council's Enviroenergy department as a Senior Service Technician on the Nottingham District Heating Network and National client properties as and when required. The post holder will be required to undertake high quality mechanical work, HIU installations or associated infrastructure works of a specialist nature on a local and national basis. The role predominantly supports our local district heating customer base but may also include works on the national domestic properties within our portfolio of clients. The post holder will have a varied and exciting role, servicing and maintaining Heat Interface Units (HIU's), Installing radiators, fault diagnosis and repair on high pressure heating systems and being involved in installing our own in-house decentralised energy payment metering solution the EE Monitor, commissioning of these and undertaking all other installation works, this could be fitting a router, installing a data logger solution, or installing a heat meter on site and any other associated works as required, training will be provided for this element of the role. The post holder will be required to undertake work on the prepayment metering upgrade project for 5000 domestic properties in the City and the continual works that are required across the portfolio. The work will involve delivering services to residents that have a high-pressure district heating supply, this could be repairing a HIU fault, replacing faulty valves and a host of other issues that may arise as part of a district heating system. Although the post is predominantly looking after our Nottingham district heating network customers, the post holder may be required to travel across the UK to complete works as and when required, with some overnights stays required for ongoing contracts. Nottingham City Council Enviroenergy are an innovative forward-thinking team, the post holder will be heavily involved in the development and delivery of new solutions to the decentralised energy market.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• Hold a minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Mechanical bias (Qualification is required to fulfil the role duties)

• Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines

• Able to read and understand technical diagrams and blueprints

• Experience of working in a customer facing environment

• Ability to perform acceptance testing on mechanical/electrical products and complete the necessary quality sign off documentation

• Hold a full current driving licence

• Energy industry experience is essential

- The role requires you to participate in the on call rota.
