Job overview
We are looking to recruit two Senior Server Engineers on a fixed-term contract until March 2026. One of these positions will primarily focus on managing and supporting Microsoft SQL Server. This role requires a highly specialized resource within the ICT department. The candidate should both already possess and be willing to develop technical expertise across the various technologies and services managed by the infrastructure team. There will be opportunities to engage in project work and adopt new technologies to meet business needs.
Main duties of the job
- Management of the server team, DC and Server Rooms in the absence of the Data Centre Manager.
- Server capacity planning, monitoring, and reporting.
- Assisting with the development and maintenance of the server standards, policies, and procedures.
- Implementation and monitoring security within the server infrastructure. Implement approved changes.
- Schedule and carry out routine maintenance tasks.
- Updating server infrastructure documents.
- On call support.

- Proven experience in IT management role within an organisation with 2000+ users.
- Managing and supporting (2nd / 3rd Line support) Microsoft Server environment, specifically in the following technologies: • Windows Server • SQL Server • Active Directory/DNS/DHCP/Group Policy • Linux • Microsoft Azure • Microsoft Exchange • Microsoft Defender • Failover Clustering and NLB • SCCM • Web Proxy • HPE Rack and Blade Servers • HPE Synergy
