Salary: £37,815- £43,083 per annum

Grade: E

Permanent Contract

37 Hours per Week

We are seeking an exceptional and engaging individual to join us as a Senior SEND Officer.

This role is an exciting opportunity for someone to showcase their skills and to join a team ensuring that children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEND) receive the support they need to thrive. This is a crucial role within our SEND Team, helping to deliver high quality person-centred casework for children and young people and families.

The role of the Senior SEND Officer includes:

  • To operationally manage the SEN Service Casework reporting to the SEN Team Manager, QA & CPD, ensuring that it is carried out in an efficient and effective manner.
  • To support and challenge schools within Thurrock regarding the support for and outcomes made by children with special educational needs and disabilities
  • To Chair and attend Panels as and when appropriate
  • Ensure that all casework is carried out to the highest standards and fully meets the Local Authority statutory functions in terms of quality and timescales.
  • To provide direct management of a team of SEN Case Officers, providing monthly 121 and weekly case supervision.
  • To quality check Education, Health & Care Plans
  • To provide advice and support and information on behalf of the Council regarding the needs of children and young people with SEND.
