We're looking for a Senior Scientist in Formulation to lead the design and development of oral dosage forms, including tablets and capsules tailored for clinical studies. You'll play a key role in creating phase-appropriate formulations and processes that meet both scientific and client expectations.

Key roles and responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Technical Project Lead to design and plan formulation development activities across multiple projects, ensuring efficient delivery in terms of time, cost, and coordination.
  • Select appropriate excipients and processes (e.g., mixing, granulation, compression) to develop prototype formulations that meet drug product requirements. Assess technical risks and propose mitigation strategies to support successful scale-up with the GMP Manufacturing Team.
  • Generate, analyse, and present data to clients, providing clear insights into product development progress. Work closely with cross-functional and global teams to ensure smooth project coordination and timely delivery.
  • Conduct studies within established workflows and regulatory frameworks (e.g., GxP, ICH), ensuring clinical supplies and stability batches are manufactured in compliance with cGMP standards.
  • Accurately document experimental results in line with departmental practices and policies. May occasionally be asked to review data or documentation as a second scientist.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of SOPs, risk assessments, and training materials. Act as a trainer and system owner for formulation development equipment, and support the evaluation and implementation of new technologies.

Requirements:

  • A degree (or equivalent) in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in formulation and clinical manufacturing, ideally within a CDMO environment.
  • Hands-on experience developing solid dosage forms such as tablets and capsules.
  • Strong communication skills, especially for client-facing meetings.
  • Familiarity with formulation and processing techniques used in formulation development.
  • Basic understanding of analytical techniques used in pharmaceutical settings.
