Senior Rural Surveyor

We are looking for an ambitious and experienced rural surveyor to join our Northampton team. The role will primarily focus on rural management supporting our many private and institutional clients with the management of their estates. There will be the need to liaise with landlords and tenants on a daily basis, assisting with lettings and residential property management, rent reviews and diversification and environment schemes.

The Northampton team is made up of 10 in the rural team and a further 5 GIS technicians. We work closely with both the Cambridge and Oxford offices particularly for planning and development, commercial, residential and energy. Our key clients include major institutional clients, local councils and private clients. We are looking for an estate management surveyor to work on a variety of clients throughout Northamptonshire and Bedfordshire.

The role will suit someone who is looking to expand on their rural management experience further working closely with our key clients.

Main tasks:

  • Estate Management activities including landlord and tenant matters, lettings and residential property management, rent reviews, diversification and environmental schemes
  • Property maintenance and improvement schemes
  • Using and updating client mapping databases
  • Undertake site visits
  • Direct client contact
  • Provide financial and client reporting as required
  • Contribute to the growth of the business by identifying and developing viable fee earning opportunities
  • Actively assist in the development and implementation of efficient, 'best practice' internal systems and processes, optimising IT and other resources
  • Work with other departments to develop new opportunities and to maintain consistency and efficiency

What will it take to be successful?

You will be MRICS qualified, with industry experienced gained in rural management. You will be able to demonstrate your ability manage estate issues and adapt to varied client requirements. You will ideally have a good understanding of the local market and relevant agricultural tenancy legislation and practical farming. You will also be an excellent communicator and be able to provide support to the wider team, including junior members of the team. It is essential that you have a full driving licence.
