Job overview

The post will give you the opportunity to build on and extend your clinical skills. You will have the opportunity to rotate through CT, MRI & Interventional Radiology.

Main duties of the job

  • To assist in the provision of an efficient radiology service.
  • To work as part of a professional radiography team providing a high quality diagnostic service.
  • To maintain a sensitive and courteous approach to patients.
  • To develop and improve professional expertise via continuous professional development (CPD).

EDUCATION

Essential criteria

  • BSc(Hons) Radiography, DCR(D) Diploma of the College of Radiographers or equivalent
  • Health Professions Council Registration
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.

Desirable criteria

  • College of Radiographers accredited cannulation course

SKILLS/ABILITIES

Essential criteria

  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to teach and mentor students, more junior staff and new members of staff.
  • Ability to cope with conflict and complaints at local level commensurate with Trust policies
  • Ability to work using own initiative but also to know when to seek assistance and guidance.
  • Able to work flexibly based on needs of service.

Desirable criteria

  • Intermediate IT skills.

EXPERIENCE

Essential criteria

  • Up to date knowledge of general imaging techniques
  • Awareness of clinical governance issue in relation to patient care
  • 12 months post-graduation experience

Desirable criteria

  • Previous experience as Band 6 or equivalent radiographer
  • Experience of training staff and students
