Manager, Project Risk
Role Context:
To be responsible for ensuring clear expectations of Project & Business Risk Management within region in terms of process, procedure, deliverables etc. and support from an implementation perspective. To be responsible for ensuring consistent Project Team application of the development, maintenance and monitoring of all Project Risk Management activities and associated documents across relevant scope(s) Responsible Line Manager for Project Risk Management professionals in region.
You'll be:
- Ensuring assigned projects pro-actively establish and maintain Risk Management activities on projects as necessary.
- Maintaining, monitor project risk related processes and activities, acting upon any variances or issues relating to compliance and advising how to appropriately rectify any potential deficiencies.
- Delivering of a range of Risk Management services to project teams pre and post award, facilitating the identification and analysis of risks on projects at all stages as required, interpreting risk outputs, and communicating to relevant stakeholders as appropriate.
- Supporting Risk Management professionals within region in their learning, ongoing activities, and career development.
- Fully conversant with the application and use of Worley Risk Management suite of tools and chosen software applications.
- Partaking in the role of project risk leadership council attend meetings and provide oversight to the business.
- Monitoring application of Risk Management processes across regional Risk Management team to ensure departmental compliance.
- Preparing, updating, and maintaining project Risk Management activities, throughout the project lifecycle and across the Risk Management process.
- Providing guidance to Project personnel in defining Risk Management objectives based on project objectives and support application of the risk process.
- Utilizing several risk identification techniques to facilitate risk identification sessions.
- Developing and implementing risk assessment criteria as part of a project risk register.
- Assisting Risk Owners with the selection of appropriate risk response strategies and development of action plans to address identified risks.
- Assisting project or functional personnel in the familiarization and consistent application of Risk Management software tools and associated process.
- Conducting Cost / Schedule Risk Analysis Workshop sessions, facilitating workshops building bespoke models and interpreting associated outputs for communication / review.
- Initiating and scope out regional RM business development opportunities and manage execution with input from regional and global risk teams.
- Providing guidance, supporting and Leadership to junior RM team members including feedback / PDR input / identification of development opportunities etc.
- Engaging with wider business management function in corporate initiatives / support Global Project Controls in Risk Management activities.
You'll have:
- Higher National Diploma / associate degree / Advanced Diploma etc. (in relevant discipline).
- Recognized Risk Management qualification (e.g., IRM International Certificate in Risk Management or significant experience)
- BA or BSc degree (min. 2:1) in Risk Management, alternative subjects considered can include: Project Management, Engineering, other analytical disciplines.
- Previous project Risk Management experience
- Specialist knowledge in Risk Management software (i.e., MCS software) and experienced with quantitative cost & schedule risk analysis.
- Demonstrable involvement / history in the relevant project industry and / or cross-over experience from a comparable technical industry.
- Knowledge of various industry Risk Management software / applications available.
- Ability to work as lead member of a team.
- Demonstrate confident presentation skills and embrace opportunities to educate others on Risk related topics.
- Sound computer skills (standard Microsoft Office applications).
- Capable of identifying and providing qualitative inputs to Risk Management related process initiatives.
- Capable of communicating with project teams, third parties & clients to meet internal and client requirements across multiple projects with several different clients concurrently.
- Strong competency in modelling quantitative (cost & schedule) risks and evaluation of analysis output.
- General risk awareness with a demonstrable interest in wider Risk Management topics / issues.
