Job Description
Due to recent successes and growth within the business, Turner & Townsend's Birmingham office require a Senior Risk Consultant to join and become a key member of our successful Risk team. Our business is looking for a client facing Senior Risk Manager, with experience of consulting on Construction Infrastructure projects, and liaising with a plethora of stakeholders.
The main purpose of this role is to implement, or support the implementation of an integrated risk management across a major capital programme or project. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Leading of risk commissions including the management of teams
- Facilitate and work with a range of companies and stakeholders to identify, assess and prioritise threats, opportunities and issues
- Maintain visibility of threat/opportunity trigger points to facilitate risk cost profiling, timely drawdown of risk budget or retirement of threat/opportunity
- Monitor overall risk exposure and assess against the remaining risk budget and timeline
- Proactively manage the completion of management responses
- Work with the supply chain to assess contractor responsibility risks and their views on client risks that could impact their ability to deliver
- Produce and present fit for purpose risk reports, in a timely manner, to support the effective communication of threat & opportunity status and required senior management action
- Conduct quantitative risk assessment (cost and schedule) to inform project contingency and time risk allowance levels. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate basic to experienced levels of competence with tools such as @risk, Safran, PRA or similar.
- Present key risk findings to clients including assurance of supply chain risk management performance
- Familiarity with web-based database/reporting tools - ARM, Xactium, Predict, Tableau, PowerBI
- Commission management and risk service development and delivery
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will show a strong knowledge of Quantitative Schedule Risk Assessments and Quantitative Cost Risk Assessments (QRSA's and QRCA's) and will have used any or all software's such as; Primavera Risk Analysis, @risk and / or Safran. They will also have proven industry experience, in infrastructure, construction, engineering or within a management consultancy.
Candidates will ideally be able demonstrate the following capabilities:
- A working understanding of a developing and implementing integrated risk management solutions across portfolios, programmes and projects
- Risk and Scenario Analysis workshop facilitation
- Strong understanding of Project Controls methodology and risk management interactions
- Experience of senior management engagement on risk management
- We are looking for candidates with proven experience in a risk delivery role on major projects/programmes or blue chip companies.
- IRM/APM risk certified candidates preferred, however not essential
