Bristol City Council is a diverse and ambitious organisation with over a £1bn annual revenue budget and £1bn capital programme.
We are currently recruiting for a Senior Risk and Insurance Officer.
You will support the delivery of the Council's Risk Management Assurance Policy and processes and support the delivery of a comprehensive insurance and claims handling service for the Council, its departments and key partners.
You will also deputise for the Risk and Insurance Manager and to coordinate the activities of the Risk and Insurance Officers.
What do I need to apply?You will hold a part or full CCAB (or equivalent qualification), have the ability to remain objective, ask challenging questions, plan, organise and makes intelligent decisions, taking into account all relevant information and resources. You will also respond positively to challenges and encourage opportunities to explore new ideas to improve service delivery.
Local government risk and insurance experience would be an advantage for this role as would Institute of Risk Management Certificate, Association of Risk Management Registered Risk Provider or working toward either of those qualifications.
Please note that this role is subject to an Enhanced DBS Check.

- Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards, the financial markets, funding requirements and opportunities.
