Full Time, PermanentAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Revenues Officer within the Revenues & Benefits Service.

Council tax and business rates pay for local services, like schools, libraries, rubbish collection, streetlights, emergency services and much more.

It's a challenging time to collect these income streams as people and businesses are struggling through the Cost of Living crisis; demand for council services however continues to increase.

You will be based in the business rates team and will play an important role in bringing this critical revenue stream in promptly and efficiently to fund a wide range of services, whilst supporting those who are facing difficult circumstances.

You will already have a detailed knowledge of local tax administration and will be assisting the team leader in the daily monitoring and allocating of work. Using your knowledge and expertise you will suggest changes to processes that will improve the service for our businesses and citizens.

You will be highly motivated and organised, as you will be juggling many demands on your time to meet tight deadlines. This position will be a great opportunity to further develop your coaching and mentoring skills as you support team members with the more complex cases.

This post is based at City Hall, though many of the team work mainly at home.
