Our Residential Service support some of the most vulnerable young people in Fife who have experiences significant childhood adversity and who, at times, may experience significant distress and distressed related behaviours.
- Provide high-quality care and support to children in a residential setting.
- Assist in the development and implementation of individual care plans.
- Promote a safe, nurturing, and positive environment for all children.
- Support children in their daily routines, including education, activities, and personal development.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation as required.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external agencies to meet the children's needs.
- Uphold safeguarding procedures and ensure the well-being of all children.
- To uphold the principals of the Promise Scotland
- Undertake quality assurance and meeting regulator responsibilities tasks which includes overseeing care plans, medical and budgets
- On call duties
- Undertake supervision
- Other duties as directed by the house manager and senior leadership team
- Promote the physical tasks (for example cleaning, cooking and participating in various activities that promote a homely environment
- The successful applicant will be expected to uphold professional standards as detailed by the SSSC and the Care Inspectorate.
Enhancements -for unsocial hours, including weekends and public holidays.
Pay - is every 4 weeks
Training-Access to and support with training opportunities and qualifications for the job.

The Person
- Experience of working with young people who have experienced Adverse Childhood Experiences
- An understanding of the concepts and principles of Attachment Promoting & Trauma Informed Care
- Must be able to see beyond presenting behaviours and to display empathy, compassion and hope for young people
- Needs to understand that this is a demanding and, at times, very tough job. A high level of composure and resilience is required
- Ability to work as part of a team and make decisions when required
- Assume overall management responsibility for the home during any periods of absence of the manager
- Must have an HNC in Social Care and SVQ 4, or be willing to work toward these qualifications and register with SSSC within 3 months of start date
- Ability to organise and participate in leisure and recreational activities
- A full driving licence is desirable
Before confirming your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland.
