Person specification

Qualification, knowledge & competence

Essential criteria

• Registration as a technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC ) or RSCi Tech with the Science Council
• NVQ Level 3 Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent

Desirable criteria

• Current GCP certificate

Experience

Essential criteria

• 3 years full-time work in a hospital / industrial pharmacy
• Experience in working with Clinical Trials, dispensary and or production

Desirable criteria

• Experience to include rotations in a hospital/industry setting e.g. wards, stores, production, dispensary
• London Pharmacy Education and Training stage 3 Technician self-development programme - relevant modules, equivalent or working towards

• Previous assessable experience of contribution to the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Previous evaluated experience of project work
• Demonstrated ability to train and assess others on a one-to-one basis
• Demonstrate the ability to solve problems
• Demonstrate the ability to work accurately under pressure
• Demonstrate the ability to motivate staff
• Demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team
• Demonstrate the ability to communicate complex information effectively using clear written and spoken English and overcome barriers to understanding
• Demonstrate the ability to clearly and accurately complete routine and non-routine documentation as indicated in the JD
• Demonstrated computer skills - Email - Word processing - Spreadsheet - Accurate data entry
• Demonstrated accurate numeracy skills, including - Complex calculations - Addition, subtraction, division, multiplication - Percentages, decimals, fractions, ratios

• Demonstrate the ability to organise project work

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
