About the Investments Team

Our Investments Team is pioneering the future of sustainable investing, focusing on early-stage impact investment funds. By identifying and managing ventures in future funds, venture capital, and more, this team is shaping a new era of investments that yield not only financial returns but also tangible environmental impact.

Role Scope:

Pollination is seeking an independent and autonomous Investments Director with experience in natural capital or real assets. The ideal candidate will be capable of originating and managing investment deals confidently, including those across the global south. This role requires a strategic thinker who can independently navigate complex investment landscapes to drive impactful financial and environmental outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Origination & Execution

• Bring network and knowledge to identify potential project and company investees to maintain a strong pipeline.
• Own the development and execution of specific investment opportunities alongside the team.
• Develop and manage the origination, due diligence, and negotiation of investment opportunities.
• Negotiate investment terms and manage transaction documentation.
• Own analytical work and draft internal investment memos to present at the Investment Committee, engaging with the team to refine investment proposals.

Asset Management

• Represent the fund as a director or observer in investee companies as required.
• Implement portfolio value creation strategies, leveraging Pollination's broader team for technical and market expertise.
• Collaborate with other Pollination teams to deliver on Fund objectives.

Collaboration & Growth

• Work with the Investment Leadership Team and Investor Solutions to develop the Pollination investment business.
• Develop and propose new product ideas to support the company's growth.
• Support the team in delivering the Fund mandate and objectives.
• Collaborate with Advisory and Projects teams to drive alignment and maximise synergies.
• Engage with external stakeholders.

What We Are Looking For:

• 8+ years of successful investment track record (origination through to exit), preferably in projects or venture capital.
• Proven value creation over time, evidenced by fund or multiple asset performance.
• Experience in originating, leading, executing, and negotiating transactions.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver investment objectives and lead project ecosystems.
• Ability to operate independently in Spanish and preferably Portuguese contexts; other language skills will be assessed as needed.
• Strong network of industry experts and advisors.
• Conceptual and analytical skills to improve investee performance.
• High level of comfort working in a mission-focused organization.
• Experience and knowledge of nature-based projects and/or solutions is highly regarded.
