Job overview
This is a fixed term appointment to the Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and is identified as an important part of its strategy to remain a preferred provider to local Health Authorities and Clinical Commissioning Groups across a wide range of hospital services. The appointment will enhance an existing successful track record of a Unit, which has an enviable reputation for good quality patient care and the determination to build upon this.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will be expected to:
- Deliver quality Orthopaedic services in the most effective way, regularly benchmarking service to improve practice.
- Support the organisational aim of HHFT making a positive contribution to the management and financial strategies.
- Enhance and provide professional leadership within the Trauma and Orthopaedic department.
- Initiate and take part in regular clinical audit.
- Have an active role in research within the department.
- Contribute to training and teaching of more junior doctors.
Working for our organisation
The department has recently undergone a service transformation. Trauma services and some elective work are provided from the Basingstoke site. Elective arthroplasty is performed on the Winchester site. Elective and fracture outpatient clinics occur on both sites. The trauma service is led by a Consultant of the Week with a Service Consultant in trauma theatre. There is a middle grade doctor in trauma theatre each day.

- GMC Registered with licence to practice
- MBBS or equivalent
- MRCS or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years post full registration
