In line with the Government's Shared Services Strategy, UKSBS is currently engaged as the future service provider within the Matrix Programme. The Programme's aim is to deliver a modern, cost-effective and scalable shared business services to nine Departments (the Policy Cluster), in a flexible way that can meet changing Government requirements, and drive innovation to optimise efficiencies and enhance user experience.
The Programme will also implement a new modern SaaS ERP platform, from which UKSBS can deliver these services, driving harmonisation and significant business change across the Departments. This is a large, complex multi-year Programme.
Working within the wider Corporate Services team, the People Team provides a discreet range of complex HR services working in close unison with our HR Service Delivery team, internal customers, and third parties. We engage with stakeholders at every level to ensure the service is delivered in accordance with UKSBS' policies and practice.
Duties will include but are not limited to:
- Monitor workplace trends and offers suggestions in relation to recruitment best practices,
- Contributes to the development of the recruitment strategy and owns tactical initiatives that support the strategy,
- Deliver an effective, proactive, and advisory recruitment service ensuring a positive experience for candidates and hiring managers:
- Partner with hiring managers to take detailed vacancy briefs and set selection criteria
- Write effective and inclusive recruitment advertising, and posts adverts on relevant channels and platforms,
- Identify tough job openings and finds the best way to fill them,
- Pro-actively source candidates
- Maintain relevant and required approvals and paperwork for the recruitment process,
- Screens to shortlist qualified candidates through CVs and screening-calls where appropriate,
- Participate in, and contributes to annual campaigns, career fairs, and events,
- Maintain recruitment content and collateral to a common standard and brand
- Attend regular meetings with business areas to better understand their recruitment needs and contributes to workforce planning initiatives and activity,
- Work with the Recruitment Manager to improve service delivery, escalates risk, suggests ways to enhance delivery and improve efficiency, and provides assistance and support to the Recruitment Manager where needed,
- Supports on recruitment projects and contributes to the wider people strategy,
Flexibility will be required to respond to the changing needs of the organisation and the service. You may also be asked to support with ad hoc projects and pieces of work relevant to your role in line with business requirements.
To do this role well you will need:
- Demonstrable in-house or agency recruitment experience,
- Track record in taking ownership of, and successfully filling, vacancies,
- Experience of effectively managing talent pools and some understanding of proactively sourcing candidates,
- Articulate, with high attention to detail, and an ability to write modern and effective recruitment copy,
- Extremely organised and proactive with a focus on delivering excellence and partnering our business,
- Confidence and willingness to proactively build professional relationships and influence stakeholders,
- A good standard of industry knowledge, and;
- Focused on delivering excellence at all times, places clients at the heart of everything they do.

Working pattern
Full-time or part-time, hybrid.
