Following successful promotion within the team and development and training opportunities we have vacancies in our general X-ray team for dynamic, experienced radiographers.

We have just entered into a new managed service contract to replace all imaging equipment across the Trust. Selection is underway and we are looking for radiographers with appropriate experience who are committed to providing outstanding patient care and producing high quality images with this new equipment. You will undertake general, trauma and fluoroscopic radiography examinations (including mobiles and theatres) with cutting edge technology. As a Senior Radiographer, you will take on a team lead/supervisory role during core and out of hours shifts including supervision of junior radiographers, Radiography Assistant Practitioners and Radiography Apprentices.

Successful candidates will have the opportunity to train to rotate through IR and The Heart Centre cath labs

Main duties of the job

We undertake examinations in our busy Radiology Department in multiple modalities across 2 sites. The main facilities are Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital (BNHH) with satellite services at Alton Community Hospital.

  • To undertake all aspects of adult and paediatric general radiography including, trauma, mobile radiography, theatre and fluoroscopy
  • Full participation in shift rota, including weekends, nights and public holidays as required
  • To take on a team leader/supervisory role during core and out of hours shifts
  • Supervise junior radiographers/RAPs during training

Training and qualifications

Essential criteria

  • Degree in Radiography (BSc) or equivalent DCRR
  • Previous experience in NHS
  • State registration

Desirable criteria

  • Previous experience with CRIS and PACS

Experience and Knowledge

Essential criteria

  • Demonstrate sound knowledge of radiographic procedures

Desirable criteria

  • Knowledge of current NHS policies and guidelines which may influence service provision
  • Relevant previous experience

Skills and ability

  • Excellent communication skills - evidence of proactive communication with colleagues, medical staff, patients and relatives
  • Evidence of organisational skills
  • Ability to react well in stressful and unpleasant situations
