Based at the Warrington office, the role requires occasional visits to site at Sellafield, Seascale, Cumbria.

What you'll be doing

Experienced QS who has a track record in managing costs and income within their area of responsibility. They seek to minimise the costs of a project and enhance value for money, while still achieving the required standards and quality. Typically, they will be a Chartered Member of the RICS, ICES or CIOB. They will have experience of managing a small team of less experienced commercial staff as well as mentoring others on their journey to becoming professionally qualified. They will maintain their Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

To manage all costs and income within their area of responsibility. Direct reports could include Apprentice QS, Trainee QS, Graduate or Assistant QS's.

Who we're looking for

  • Clean driving licence
  • Must be able to pass a DBS check as part of BPSS security clearance
  • Good excel skills (formulas, vlookups, pivot tables, sumifs
  • Ability to analyse data
  • Knowledge of and adheres to the company's governance requirements and maximises LEAN/digital opportunities.
  • Commercial Management / Quantity Surveying
  • NEC experience
  • Subcontract procurement
  • Management of subcontract packages
  • Change management and pricing compensation events
  • CVR
  • Application for payment
  • Cost forecasting
  • Cost reporting
  • Internal forecasting
  • Cost audit
  • Cash flow forecasting
  • Stakeholder management
  • Use of CEMAR
  • Remeasurement

The following qualifications or their equivalent are essential:

• BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent knowledge
• MRCIS/MCInstCES/MCIOB or working towards them
• CSCS Card (Professional Qualified Person)
