About the role

We're looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial success of high-profile building projects. You'll manage all project costs from initial calculations to final figures, aiming to minimise costs while maintaining quality and standards. You'll also mentor junior commercial staff and help them progress towards professional qualifications.

What you'll be doing

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor within Balfour Beatty, you will:

• Prepare and analyse tender documents, estimates, and activity/resource schedules.
• Monitor subcontractor activities and track commercial progress.
• Review contract programmes, delay/disruption schedules, and prepare procurement strategies.
• Analyse rates and prices, negotiate variations/claims, and prepare commercial reports.
• Support recruitment, development, and mentoring of junior staff.

Who we're looking for

We are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor with the following:

• BSc/MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience.
• Chartered or working towards membership of RICS, ICES, or CIOB.
• Proven experience managing costs on building or civil engineering projects.
• Experience leading teams or mentoring junior staff.
