About the role
Balfour Beatty is proud to be delivering major works on the Net Zero Teesside (NZT) project in Redcar - a pioneering development set to become the UK's first integrated carbon capture, usage and storage (CCUS) power and industrial cluster. This is a landmark project with the potential to transform the region and make a lasting contribution to the UK's Net Zero ambitions.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team, playing a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of this high-profile project.
What you'll be doing
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor you will:
- Leading all aspects of cost management, subcontract management and commercial reporting
- Driving value engineering and cost efficiency across the project lifecycle
- Ensuring robust financial controls, compliance, and forecasting are maintained
- Building strong relationships with clients, partners, and subcontractors
- Supporting and mentoring junior members of the commercial team.
Who we're looking for
You will have the following:
- Proven experience as a Senior QS on large-scale civil engineering or energy infrastructure projects
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to challenge and influence at all levels
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- A collaborative mindset and a commitment to safety, sustainability, and innovation.
