What you'll be doing

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for overseeing all costs and income within your area of responsibility. You'll focus on minimising project costs and maximizing value, ensuring projects meet the required standards of quality.

You will also manage and mentor a small team of commercial staff, support recruitment and development, and provide professional guidance.

Who we're looking for

As a SENIOR QUANTITY SURVEYOR, you will have the following accountabilities:

  • Manage all financial aspects within your project area, including cost control and income tracking.
  • Prepare activity and resource schedules, analyse tender documents, and critically appraise estimates.
  • Negotiate contracts, manage subcontractor activities, and prepare commercial progress reports.
  • Work closely with internal teams, subcontractors, and customers to ensure smooth commercial management.
  • Assist with procurement strategies, contract administration, and preparation of delay and disruption programs.
  • Mentor and develop junior members of the commercial team.

The following qualifications are essential:

  • BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent).
  • Chartered status or working towards membership (MRICS/MCInstCES/MCIOB).
  • CSCS Card (Professional Qualified Person).
  • Strong experience in commercial management, governance, and procurement.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to stakeholder management.
  • Ability to lead and mentor junior staff effectively. Recognises opportunities & threats
