Brief Description

We have a great opportunity here in Southern Region's Minor Works team, for a Senior Quality Manager.

As the Senior Quality Manager, you'll maintain the existing quality management system at programme / major project level, covering all project related functions and activities. Using your experience, you'll identify and address quality improvement opportunities and mitigate existing and emerging risks.

You'll need the ability to work collaboratively and through strong relationship building skills, manage multiple stakeholders, whilst being able to influence and problem solve to achieve best outcome.

While the role is based at London Blackfriars, there is a requirement to travel across our three Routes (Kent, Sussex and Wessex) on a frequent basis.

About the role (External)

Some of your Key Accountabilities will be to:

• Monitor and manage the assurance programme, framework, and management system throughout Works Delivery, ensuring programmes and projects are managed according to all relevant Network Rail Standards and Procedures.

• Generate and maintain a periodic Quality Report, liaising with programme teams to provide awareness of local assurance activities and trend analysis.

• Manage and control Quality focused projects with appropriate project plans.

• Monitor quality of work for programme teams by conducting Network Rail approved assurance activities on a quarterly and annual basis. Verify and validate the implementation of procedures required to achieve a cost effective and safe approach on all projects and renewal/maintenance schemes.

• Maintain the local Quality Plan in alignment with applicable programme activities.

• Conduct annual quality gap assessments, consider the impact and probability of possible risks and how these can be mitigated. Develop and implement contingency plans to address and prevent future non-compliance with standards, legislation, safety cases or notices served by statutory authorities.

• Monitor quality of work for contractors by conducting Quality assurance meetings with Principal Contractors' compliance manager, reviewing assurance key performance indicators e.g., Audits, standards awareness, reporting.

• Contribute to Supplier meetings where appropriate.

• Maintain Quality performance indicators for programme teams and provide appropriate reporting.

• Maintain local Business Management System documentation; documented procedures, and support relevant teams where development is required.

Job Skills, Experience and Qualifications required:

Essential

• Proven track record of operating in a complex business environment across multi-disciplinary areas.

• Member of the Chartered Quality Institute, Certified IRCA Lead Auditor or relevant professional body recognition

• A comprehensive knowledge of Quality management tools and techniques.

• Demonstrates strong business/commercial approach and understanding of business needs.

• Proven experience of working in partnership with senior business leaders in order to improve quality management.

• Ability to establish professional credibility quickly.

• Excellent communication skills and ability to negotiate and influence effectively with all levels of an organisation.

Desirable

• Understanding of procurement and contracting strategies and supply chain management.

• ISO 9001 Quality Management System lead auditor

• Training in environmental awareness- an appreciation of environmental and safety issues in project work.

• Six Sigma Green Belt.

• Comprehensive knowledge of PACE.

• Nebosh Certificate.]]>
