Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Quality Engineer to join our team within our Operations Quality Business Team here in Darlington, United Kingdom.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Lead PPAP Work: Oversee inter-plant PPAP to ensure defect-free processes and high quality.
- Develop Teams: Mentor Plant Quality Engineers and Technicians to enhance their skills
- Communicate Issues: Update Plant Leadership on quality issues and resolutions.
- Liaison Role: Facilitate communication between the plant and SQE for smooth PPAP progression.
- Supplier Containment: Manage and coordinate actions for supplier-related quality issues.
- Measurement Strategy: Develop and lead measurement teams and strategies for quality assessment.
- Manage Returns: Handle component returns and Corrective Action Requests with suppliers.
- Achieve Results: Drive initiatives that meet customer needs and support business goals.
Responsibilities
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Expertise in PPAP and PFMEA: Deep understanding of Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), and Control Plans.
- Strong Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with plant leadership, suppliers, and team members to address issues and drive improvements.
- Experience with Corrective Actions: Proven track record in managing Corrective Actions and Supplier Corrective Actions, including root cause analysis and resolution.
- Leadership and Team Development: Experience in leading and developing teams, along with skills in containment and supplier management.
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
- College, university, or equivalent degree in Engineering or a related technical or scientific subject or experience equivalent is required.
- Significant experience in Manufacturing, Engineering or Program Management role in the automotive industry or a similarly regulated industry
