Senior QA Engineer (Must be in UK)

At PolAI the reliability of our software is paramount. We are committed to providing a robust and reliable platform to our customers. To achieve this, we are building out our Quality Assurance (QA) organization and are looking for a highly skilled Senior QA Engineer to join our team. As the second hire in the QA team and the most senior member, you will have a significant impact on shaping our QA processes, mentoring junior team members, and ensuring the highest standards of quality in our software.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and Implement QA Processes: Design, develop, and implement comprehensive QA processes and testing frameworks to ensure the reliability and performance of our platform.
  • Leadership and Mentorship: Mentor and guide junior QA team members, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
  • Test Strategy and Planning: Develop detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on product requirements and technical specifications.
  • Automation: Work with our current automation engineer to improve our automated testing frameworks and tools to enhance efficiency and coverage.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements, identify potential risks, and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
  • Bug Tracking and Reporting: Manage bug tracking systems, prioritise issues, and work with the development team to resolve defects.
  • Documentation: Maintain clear and detailed documentation of test plans, procedures, and results.
  • Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve QA processes and tools to enhance quality and efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in Quality Assurance, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and processes. Experience with automated testing tools (we use Cypress) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Leadership: Proven experience in leading and mentoring junior QA engineers.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to articulate complex technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
