Senior QA Analyst

Overview
We are seeking an experienced QA Analyst to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with strong hands-on testing expertise, a solid understanding of Agile delivery, and the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
The successful candidate will be based in Northern Ireland and able to attend our Belfast office 2-3 days per week as part of our hybrid working model.
Responsibilities
- Plan, design, and execute manual test cases across multiple projects and platforms.
- Liaise with senior business representatives to plan, coordinate, and facilitate User Acceptance Testing
- Perform API testing using Postman, including validation of request/response structures and data integrity.
- Write and execute SQL queries (t-SQL) to validate backend proceses and perform data verification.
- Collaborate closely with developers, BAs, and product owners in an Agile environment to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Log, track, and manage defects using industry-standard ALM tools (Jira, Azure DevOps).
- Participate in Agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.
- Contribute to test planning, risk assessments, and estimation activities.
- Support continuous improvement of QA processes and testing practices.
- Leverage test automation experience and knowledge of coding languages (e.g., Java/Typescript/C#) to create and maintain automated tests using common libraries (e.g., Selenium/Playwright).
Qualifications
- Essential - Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field, or equivalent work experience
- ISTQB Foundation
- Desirable - Additional course or certification in Quality Assurance
Essential skills
- 3-5 years' experience in software testing or QA roles.Strong experience working within Agile/Scrum teams.
- Hands-on experience with API testing, ideally using Postman.
- Proficiency in MS SQL Server and t-SQL for data validation.
- Experience using Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) tools, such as Jira or Azure DevOps (preferably both).
- Exposure to at least one test automation language/framework (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, etc.)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

- Experience in Non-functional testing techniques
- Experience of leveraging AI/ML tools to augment testing
