Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, enthusiastic, highly motivated and fully accredited Senior Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner to join the management team within the Redbridge Talking Therapies Improving Access to Psychological Service.

The post holder must hold an accredited Post Graduate Certificate, Diploma or accredited Top Up Certificate in Low Intensity CBT based interventions and have minimum 2 years of experience of working as a PWP ( post training).

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be expected to support their team, department and organisation to achieve the Trust's Values in their day to day work. These are the 5P's:

The post holder will achieve this by:

Offering evidence-based practice in facilitated self-help, individually by phone, face-to-face and in groups, and will develop, support and train innovative practice to trainee IAPT Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (PWPs).

The post holder will work with people with different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary and may be called upon to work in various community settings.

In addition, there is a clinical supervision component to the post; this offers an opportunity for qualified and experienced IAPT PWPs, low intensity workers or primary care graduate mental health workers who are enthusiastic and excited by the development of low intensity services, to share their interest and passion, and to develop these qualities and skills in others.

Probationary Period
This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).
Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
High Cost Area Supplement - London
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,313 and a maximum payment of £5,436 per annum pro rata).

Qualifications

Essential criteria

  • A related undergraduate degree, e.g. Psychology
  • IAPT Low intensity worker/ psychological well being practitioner qualification

Desirable criteria

  • IAPT Certificate in PWP Case Management Supervision Skills

Experience

Essential criteria

  • Experience of and ability to provide mentor/supervisor role
  • Ability to demonstrate a range of Experiences in offering and delivering the range of IAPT Low intensity interventions
  • Experience of working in a Primary Care Mental Health setting

Desirable criteria

  • Experience of dealing with clients whose children are subject to Child Protection legislation

Skills and Knowledge

Essential criteria

  • Models of assessment, screening, referral, record-keeping and evidence-based brief psychological intervention
  • Clinical risk assessment and risk management
  • An understanding of the context of IAPT stepped care
