Why this job matters

This role sits within the Financial Services, Insurance & Security team who define and take to market standout propositions to ensure momentum and value growth for Consumer. Also leading on Insurance, Trade in, Repairs, Financial services and other elements of the After Sales P&L.

The Senior Propositions Manager - Strategic Payments role is key to the development and performance of EE's hardware business - unlocking sales by defining, delivering and managing the best range of ways to pay executed in the simplest way possible for our customers The role will lead on all aspects of key propositions which is a key enabler to the significant Gaming and Consumer Electronics hardware growth ambitions as well as providing the future strategic direction of consumer lending within the business.

Specifically you'll lead the team to develop the best line of up ways to pay across; pay upfront, short term payments, financing, leasing plus define our future finance strategy as we seek to align the two EE market facing finance propositions (Pay Monthly Flex Pay and EE Finance for standalone Consumer Electronics sales)

What you'll be doing

  • Own ways to pay Proposition strategy, roadmap, customer and commercial impact
  • Deliver; short terms payments, strategic financing direction (defining how we align our Flex Pay and EE Finance propositions), leasing strategy and delivery
  • Working in partnership with key stakeholders within the Mobile and Consumer Electronics & Gaming that utilise the capability - ensuring all specific proposition requirements are
  • Ensuring all products are operated and run in accordance with the regulatory framework across all new and in-life propositions - all product regulatory requirements met
  • Managing the commercial impact of our ways to pay model - minimising the cost base, ensuring best line up of suppliers, ensuring all funding requirements in place and aligned with internal teams
  • Optimising payment solutions delivered internally vs 3rd party. Balancing funding, delivery, cost, CX across the portfolio.
  • Maximising margins by working with BT Treasury and 3rd party funders to optimise funding options, accounting treatment and investment opportunities.
  • Understanding the regulated payment marketplace, managing new and existing relationships with 3rd parties identifying new payment options and approaches.
  • Props roadmap definition and prioritisation across both internal and external payment options.
  • Driving synergies between credit policies across internal and external providers, identifying and using available data, including open banking. How do we bring credit policies closer together to bring a more coordinated CX.
  • Working with other teams to maximise take up of finance across the product range, optimising promotional opportunities and segmenting by product and customer segment.
  • First line of defense for payment solutions, leading voice on compliance and regulation managing 3rd party governance and reporting.
  • Manage stakeholder buy in and support identifying and filling potential areas of resource gaps
  • Interlocking plans (joint strategy and roadmap planning where relevant) and strong collaboration with key teams from around the business e.g. CE & Gaming, Mobile, Home, Regulatory & Compliance, Finance, Commercial, Treasury

The skills and experience you will have under your belt

  • Strong team leadership skills - experience of setting direction and developing high performing teams
  • Substantial knowledge and broad experience in Ways to Pay Propositions ideally across Mobile/CE category
  • Expert in financial services propositions (preferably mobile or hardware related)
  • Strong experience and knowledge of regulated payments, financing, and 3rd party options
  • Proven track record of customer and commercial outcome delivery
  • Ability to quickly establish credibility and respect and build strong working relationships with stakeholder's across Consumer
  • Excellent planning and execution skills
  • Proven ability in making things happen - translate solutions into creation and delivery of practical and workable marketing plans that have a commercial / business impact
  • Experience of navigating large, complex organizational structures
  • Able to deal with ambiguity, identify resources to implement and determine pragmatic solutions
  • Ability to drive performance through data - excellent business acumen to track proposition performance and creating/delivering actions plans to ensure success
