Salary: £47,694 - £52,155 per annum + Market Premia of Standard 10% of top of grade

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Project Manager to join our Transport Projects & Programmes team at Leicestershire County Council, one of the best performing councils in the country. The successful applicant will also be expected to undertake site visits, when required.

About the Role

Your role will be to lead a team in the delivery of a programme of highway projects. The role will require communication with Members, a broad range of stakeholders and senior management, establishing project governance and reporting procedures, financial monitoring, and programme and risk management, to ensure that schemes are delivered on time, to quality and cost.

About You

To apply for this post, you must have:

  • Ability to manage complex processes.
  • Significant experience of project and programme management, with excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise work within tight timescales, often working under pressure.
  • Experience of working in a transport environment is preferable. In addition to being able to communicate with a range of audiences at all levels, the successful candidate must be diplomatic and understand the principles of confidentiality.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Understanding of the principles of equality, diversity and inclusion and the benefits that they bring.
  • An excellent team worker and manager, with the ability to build strong relationships.
  • Excellent IT skills. Excel, word, Project (preferable)
