FTC: 12-18 months
Salary: Up to 55k depending on experience
Somerset Care is embarking on an exciting period of transformation, and we're looking for a Senior Project Manager (PMO Lead) to help shape, coordinate, and elevate our Project Management Office.

About the Role
In this pivotal role, you'll partner with senior leaders across Operations, HR, IT, Property and Finance to deliver cross-functional projects that improve how we work. You'll set PMO standards, embed governance and reporting, and ensure projects run smoothly, on time and within scope.
Key programmes include:
• Technology transformation
• Staffing model alignment
• Commercial model review
• Property optimisation
You'll also be the central link between project teams and stakeholders ensuring clear communication, strong engagement, and effective change adoption across our services.
What You'll Lead On
- Building and embedding PMO standards, governance and reporting
- Coordinating multiple complex projects and maintaining detailed plans
- Facilitating meetings, tracking RAID logs, and managing dependencies
- Supporting pilots, training, rollouts and change adoption
- Producing high-quality updates for the COO and Executive Team
- Maintaining portfolio oversight aligned to organisational priorities

- Effective budget management
- Timely risk and issue resolution
- Strong engagement and clear communication across teams
- High adoption rates of new systems/processes
- Visible improvements to operational efficiency and staff experience
About You
You're structured, collaborative, and thrive in fast-moving, multi-disciplinary environments. You bring clarity to complexity, communicate confidently at all levels, and keep projects moving with pace and purpose.
Essential experience includes:
- Project coordination or management, ideally in care, health, property or service delivery
- Strong planning, documentation and organisational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to manage competing priorities and collaborate across functions
- Proficiency with project tools (MS Project, Asana, Excel, etc.)
Desirable:
- PRINCE2 / APM or similar qualifications
- Experience in regulated or care environments
- Understanding of change management
- Ability to interpret financial/operational data
- Full UK driving licence
