We are seeking a Project /Programme Director or experienced Project Manager (also known as a Senior Delivery Lead) to take ownership of high value, challenging projects and programmes in the built environment in the Defence and Security sector. In this role you will be fully accountable for the project/programme's health and safety, technical, commercial and financial performance and all aspects of client care and management. You will work closely with a Project Manager/s and technical teams from around the business as required. We are looking for proactive individuals who can collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and partner organisations to ensure our clients receive the highest level of service. You will be expected to foster and grow client relationships, supporting existing or developing new account plans and identifying and leading on opportunities to develop our offering or improve our service. The role will include bringing internal teams together to collaborate on a variety of Defence and Security projects that are predominantly defence infrastructure based.

YOUR NEW ROLE, WHATS INVOLVED?

As a Senior Leader in the Defence Team, we are seeking a Senior Delivery Lead to take ownership of high value, challenging projects and programmes in the Defence and Security sector. We anticipate that you will be able to demonstrate leadership behaviours which will assist in growing the Defence and Security business for WSP. In this role you will be fully accountable for the project/programme's health and safety, technical, commercial and financial performance and all aspects of client care and management. You will work closely with a Project Manager/s and technical teams as required.

We are looking for proactive individuals who exhibit leadership behaviours, can collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and partner organisations to ensure our clients receive the highest level of service.

You will be expected to foster and grow client relationships, supporting existing or developing new account plans and identifying and leading on opportunities to develop our offering or improve our service.

WE'D LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE

• Significant experience in the infrastructure area of Defence and Security sector in a project/programme management, facilities engineering or design capacity including a demonstrable understanding of working in accordance with security protocols;
• Knowledge of any of the following:
  • MOD policy, processes and procedures;
  • Knowledge of the JSPs, in particular JSP 850;
  • The Green Book and 5 case model for business cases;
• An existing network within the Defence and Security sector;
• Degree in relevant technical discipline (engineering, building, quantity surveying, science, project or construction management);
• Recognised project or programme management qualification from one of the following: PMI, APM, RICS, CIOB;
• NEC3/4 PM qualification;
• You must be eligible to achieve Security Clearance.

YOUR TEAM

Reporting to the Head of Defence Delivery, you will be joining a growing and diverse team, tackling complex infrastructure projects that span the RIBA design stages.

We are relatively new to the sector and are recruiting following several significant wins with both public and private sector clients. As well as successfully meeting the needs of our growing client base, we are developing a strong defence and security culture within WSP. In this role you will be expected to support ongoing work winning activities and act as an ambassador for the sector within the business.

We are nationwide and work flexibly between home, WSP and client offices, travelling as required to best deliver the particular needs of the project/programme.
