There has never been a more exciting time to join Tesco Insurance and Money Services. We're gearing up for the mobilisation and delivery of several key transformation initiatives that will shape the future of how we operate - and we're looking for exceptional talent to help make it happen.

Opportunity

We're looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our Transformation & Agile Practices team - someone who thrives in a fast‑moving environment and can bring structure, clarity, and momentum to complex change.

In this role, you'll lead medium to large‑scale projects (or multiple projects at once), shaping the vision, plans, and delivery approach from the outset. You'll be responsible for end‑to‑end execution, from planning through to implementation, reporting, and performance management - ensuring delivery is on time, within budget, and to scope.

You'll be comfortable making informed decisions, navigating complex challenges, and leading teams and stakeholders to successful outcomes.

What you'll be doing

  • Lead the end‑to‑end planning, mobilisation, and delivery of medium-large projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to agreed scope and quality.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, RAID logs, delivery milestones, and performance metrics.
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with project sponsors, business owners, and senior stakeholders across Tesco Insurance & Money Services.
  • Communicate progress, risks, decisions, and impacts through clear and concise reporting, adapting to different audiences.
  • Facilitate workshops, decision forums, and cross‑functional working groups to ensure alignment and momentum.
  • Support a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the project team.
  • Proactively identify, manage, and escalate project risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies.
  • Ensure compliance with governance processes, including Enterprise Change PMO standards.
  • Manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial tracking, ensuring value for money and transparency of spend.
  • Support business case development and benefits tracking, ensuring expected value is delivered.
  • Prepare and present project updates for governance forums, steering groups, and leadership reviews.
  • Work closely with operational leaders to ensure smooth transition into BAU, including training, comms, readiness assessments, and post‑implementation support.
  • Facilitate the embedding of new processes, systems, or controls to ensure changes are fully adopted and benefits are realised.

We need you to have

  • Solid experience delivering medium to large‑scale projects, ideally within transformation, financial services, insurance, or similarly complex environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams, drive clarity, and maintain momentum across multiple workstreams.
  • Experience engaging, influencing, and aligning stakeholders at all levels - with confidence communicating progress, risks, and decisions.
  • Experience working with third‑party suppliers and delivery partners, ensuring outcomes are delivered to agreed scope, quality, and timelines.
  • Ability to translate plans, risks, and insights into clear messaging for different audiences, including senior leaders.
  • Understanding of project budgeting, forecasting, value for money, and how delivery aligns to wider business objectives.
  • A focus on delivering change that improves customer experience and business outcomes.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, assess options, make informed decisions, and manage risks proactively.
  • A mindset that looks for ways to enhance delivery practices, simplify processes, and drive better ways of working.
  • Familiarity with project delivery methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, hybrid) and supporting tools, with the ability to apply them pragmatically.

And if you have any of these, even better

  • Previous Financial Services experience.
  • Insurance and/or Money Services experience.
  • Experience working in an agile change environment.

We don't expect you to tick every box, and if you feel you hit most of the brief, it's worth exploring to further develop your career here with us at Tesco Insurance and Money Services.

What's in it for you?

  • Prepare for your retirement with our colleague pension scheme.
