About the Role
Base Location: Andover, Axminster, Melksham, Yeovil, Bristol, Poole or Chickerell
Salary: £55,200 - £83,000 + car allowance + bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.
Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available| Minimum 1 day per week in contractor office in Andover, with regular attendance on sites across the area
SSEN are looking to recruit Senior Project Managers for the Distribution ED2 price control and will deliver NetZero enabling projects upgrading and replacing our electricity network. The Senior Project Managers will be responsible within the Large Capital Delivery team for leading project teams to design and deliver electrical infrastructure projects that meet our customer's requirements, in a safe and timely manner at the agreed cost.
The Senior Project Managers will work with the Project Director overseeing the teams programme of works, ensuring it has the relevant resource to maintain its portfolio, ensuring customer needs including;
-Develop excellent customer working relationships, gained through demonstrating competence at all levels of our project works.
- Ensuring that a quality programme of works is in place and maintained during the lifetime of the project. Be able to read and navigate a way around the programme in order to oversee and manage successfully critical path activities, control work streams, monitor key material delivery, aligning dates to ensure full and effective use is made of the resource.
- Set up financial controls and measures that allows visibility of all project expenditure and enables easy interrogation of costs at any time.
- Lead, motivate, challenge and empower the team to achieve goals and milestones over the lifetime of the project. Support and clearly instruct team members to enable them to understand the importance their role plays in ensuring the success of the project and celebrate their achievements regularly.
- Lead through example by demonstrating outstanding behaviours in all aspects of the role and act as an ambassador for SSE SHE policies, values and culture both internally and externally.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- Experience of working in project design, delivery organisation and have experience of delivering capital infrastructure/engineering projects.
-Experience in risk management, with ability to clearly articulate key project delivery risks, with cause effect and consequence on project budget and programme.
- Exceptional leadership skills combined with previous experience of managing large, high performing teams.
- Have a good working knowledge of various forms of commercial contracts and their pros and cons, being able to apply them and put them to their correct use, ensuring all parties are familiar with the agreed processes like communication, response times, instruction and compensation to mitigate delays and financial risk.
As this role will require travel to various sites, a UK driving license is required.
