We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to support the Contract Delivery Manager in the Arb Utility division at Ground Control. You will be responsible for managing the operation for an assigned programme of tree works in Purfleet Southend and the surrounding areas. You will take responsibility for driving the programme delivery for both self, contract KPI targets and our tree cutting teams. In addition, you will take a key role in mentoring and guiding the more junior members of the team.

This is a field-based role with approximately 3 days in the field and 2 days based at home

You will ensure work is completed to the highest possible standards in terms of safety, environment, quality, customer service and profitability. Drive consistency and innovation through everything you do to ensure Ground Control are the best at what we do!

What you will achieve;

  • Responsible for outputs and performance within your projects, measured against safety, quality, production, budget, required timings and client satisfaction.
  • Ensure efficient communication with your assigned Project Coordinator and relevant action taken to ensure projects are processed in good time for smooth and efficient project delivery on all projects.
  • Timely and effective reporting and communication through to your Contract Delivery Manager
  • Ensure your assigned tree cutting teams have a suitable work bank and are being fully utilised across the wider contract.
  • Update and manage the Work Programme, SD Programme, Held Up Programme, Planning checklists and all similar programmes for your project and assigned teams.
  • Satisfactorily resolving any Held-Up spans that need client resolution to obtain consent.

Who are we looking for?

This a great role for someone with a basic general project management understanding who would like to move into a completely different environmental sector and expand their skills further.

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Practiced and strong negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Proficient and competent IT.
  • Well-developed team management and organisational skills, experience in managing a small team as well as providing coaching to this team
  • Ability to prioritise workload and balance demands from numerous sources to ensure that all stakeholder needs are met.
  • Excellent Customer Service.

Any previous experience within the Environmental services sector would be useful but is not essential.
