About us
The School of Global Affairs (SGA) is seeking a full-time Senior Programmes Officer to work within the School's Professional and Continuing Education (PACE) team. This is an exciting opportunity to support hybrid, online and leadership education programmes, joining a new team at the SGA dedicated to supporting a suite of innovative programmes. The successful candidate would work with academics belonging to a group of diverse Institutes and Centres at whose core is some of the most pressing issues facing the world today. You would be key in delivering a high-quality student and staff experience as well as establishing groundbreaking ways of delivering non-standard programmes, the processes that frame those programmes and developing best practice. You would be part of a wider School-based professional services team and have contact with networks at King's such as King's Digital. About the role
The Senior Programme Officer role provides essential advice and support to students and academics alike. Working in a fast-paced environment, the role includes solving complex queries and issues at all points of the student life cycle, supporting activities such as timetabling, module diets and assessment boards, using databases and Microsoft Excel to maintain accurate student data on progress and achievement, drafting correspondence and emails, and delivering a high-quality service across PGT cohorts. Working with colleagues to plan and coordinate a varied set of activities, you will have opportunities to further develop your knowledge of regulations and process and be part of professional networks promoting best practice. As part of the King's community, you'll work alongside inspiring academic staff, professional services staff and students.
The role will report to the School Programmes Manager (PACE) and is based at Bush House on the Strand campus. Professional services staff are currently working on a hybrid basis, meaning that the role holder will spend part of their working week on campus and the remainder working remotely.

This role is full time and will be offered on an indefinite contract.
About You
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:
Essential criteria
- Demonstrable programme administration experience gained within a Higher Education context
- Excellent written and oral communication skills including the ability to draft documents and correspondence autonomously to a broad range of key stakeholders
- Strong numeracy skills and ability to analyse complex numerical data
- Excellent time management and organisational skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines
- Familiarity with databases and student records systems (such as SITS) to provide management information data to a high level of detail and accuracy
- Experience of using virtual learning environments (such as Moodle) to support modules and assessments
- Understanding of the customer facing environment with a knowledge of how to address complaints and service setbacks in a professional and efficient manner
- Experience of managing and delivering a portfolio of taught provision, with a proactive, development focused and transparent approach, both in the context of face-to-face and online programmes
- Ability to work independently, as well as having a collaborative and relationship-oriented approach
