The post is part of the FoDOCS Postgraduate taught team. The PGT team provides support for the Postgraduate student experience in the Dental Institute including but not limited to timetables (clinical and non-clinical), exams and assessments (both UK and overseas). The team is based in offices on Floor 18 of the Tower Wing, based in Guy's Hospital, on the College's Guy's campus.
About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Senior Programme Officer in a busy and vibrant team within the Faculty of Dentistry, Oral & Craniofacial Sciences at King's College London. This role would suit an experienced administrator ready for the next stage in their career. We welcome candidates from both Higher Education and other sectors.
The Senior Programme Officer provides essential support to students and academics, working as part of the postgraduate taught programmes team to ensure that high quality administrative and student support is provided from enrolment to graduation. As well as the supervisory responsibilities mentioned below, the role holder is responsible for the day-to-day programme administration for several courses.
This includes taking responsibility to resolve complex queries and issues, timetabling, the production of handbooks, managing course and online resources, assessment administration, using databases and Microsoft Excel to maintain accurate student data on progress and achievement, supporting assessment boards and working with the team on service and process improvement.
Working with colleagues to plan and coordinate a varied set of activities, you will have opportunities to further develop your knowledge of regulations and process and be part of professional networks promoting best practice. As part of the King's community, you'll work alongside inspiring academic staff, administrators and students. They will also represent the faculty in wider university activities and committees and work with central university services such as the Assessment & Awards and Examinations teams.
The role holder will support and oversee the day-to-day work of four programme officers, ensuring that their activities are carried out efficiently and to a high-level of accuracy. The post reports directly to the postgraduate programmes manager.

This is a full time post (35 Hours per week), and you will be offered a fixed term contract until 27th August 2027.
About you
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:
Essential criteria
- Excellent written and oral communication skills including the ability to draft documents and correspondence.
- Strong numeracy skills and ability to analyse complex numerical data.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and associated platforms like SharePoint.
- Experience of stakeholder management and the ability to work with a broad range of stakeholders in a professional and assured manner.
- Collaborative and relationship-oriented approach to teamwork.
- Proactive approach, and the ability to work independently.
- Ability to work under pressure to complete a range of competing priorities, requesting and utilising support as and when required.
Desirable criteria
- Experience in the use of databases and/or student records systems (such as SITS) and virtual learning environments (VLEs)
- Experience with supervision or line management in a team.
- Experience of committee administration and taking accurate notes / minutes
