As a Senior Programme Manager, you will play a pivotal role within the Engineering function, managing the end-to-end delivery of vehicle programmes. This position demands exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills to ensure programmes are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, development, and manufacturing, to meet the technical and commercial objectives of the programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage multiple vehicle programmes, from concept through to production, ensuring adherence to key milestones, deliverables, and cost targets.
- Define programme objectives, scope, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, ensuring alignment with business goals and resource availability.
- Oversee risk management processes, identifying potential issues and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, fostering collaboration and alignment across teams.
- Drive decision-making processes to resolve technical, operational, and commercial challenges.
- Monitor and report on programme performance, including budgetary and timeline adherence, using appropriate metrics and tools.
- Ensure robust change management processes are in place for scope, schedule, and cost adjustments.
- Lead programme reviews and governance meetings, providing clear and concise updates to senior leadership.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to enhance programme delivery and efficiency.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Essential:
- Proven experience in delivering complex vehicle or engineering programmes within the automotive or related sectors.
- Strong technical understanding of vehicle development, from concept design to production.
- Demonstrated ability to manage large budgets and complex schedules.
- Expertise in stakeholder management and communication at all levels.
- Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
Desirable:
- Experience in lightweight structures, advanced materials, or alternative powertrains.
- Familiarity with the latest trends in automotive technology and innovation.
