Knowledge and Qualifications

Essential criteria

  • Educated to masters level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in specialist area.
  • Extensive knowledge of specialist areas, acquired through post graduate diploma or equivalent experience or training plus further specialist knowledge or experience to master's level equivalent
  • Evidence of post qualifying and continuing professional development
  • Must have an understanding of the background to and aims of current healthcare policy in London and appreciate the implications of this on engagement
  • Must have an appreciation of the relationship between the Department of Health, the NHS England (London) and individual provider and commissioning organisations
  • Essential IT skills, including MS PowerPoint, MS Word and MS Excel.

Desirable criteria

  • Evidence of further professional academic or management studies.
  • Member of relevant professional body

Experience

Essential criteria

  • Have experience of working in a strategy and transformation capacity within the NHS
  • Experience of significant programme of leading change across boundaries (both within an organisation or across a system)
  • Experience of managing people and teams
  • Experience in developing creative solutions to problems.
  • Involvement in complex and sophisticated service development and reconfiguration.
  • Leading capacity planning, influencing behaviours of external bodies

  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of expertise in providing senior leadership
  • Ability to create a strategy for a large programme area across multiple organisations
  • Leadership, vision, strategic thinking and planning with highly developed political skills
