The Role
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our Business Development team. This role is critical in expanding our client base within the institutional investment community, including public pension plans, endowments, local government authorities, and sovereign wealth funds. The successful candidate will drive growth through direct client outreach and relationships with investment consultants.
The role will focus on enhancing our value proposition through new deployments, structuring client solutions, influencing key decisions, and delivering measurable business impact. The solutions include FX execution, enhanced passive hedging/tenor management, dynamic hedging, risk advisory and will soon also include cash management. The candidate will collaborate with group colleagues in UK, Europe and US, to align strategies and maximise business opportunities.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial markets, particularly in the realm of currency risk management, and be ambitious in their goals to achieve sales targets.
Key Responsibilities
Client Acquisition and Relationship Management to include:
• Identifying and developing new client opportunities in target markets
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with existing and prospective clients
• Conducting product presentations, demonstrations, and training sessions for clients
• Leading and supporting the timely completion of RFPs to win new mandates.
Consultant Relations:
• Engaging with investment consultants to promote our currency risk hedging and cash management solutions
• Providing expert advisory support to investment consultants regarding our product offerings
• Collaborating across various products, functions, and business lines to identify new opportunities and enhance client experience.
Partnership Development;
• Identifying and pursuing strategic distribution partners to expand our market reach
• Negotiating and establishing partnership agreements to drive mutual growth
• Ensuring product governance compliance and proactively address gaps in the existing offering
• Conduct competitive analysis and stay informed about industry developments to refine our product strategy.
Product Knowledge and Support:
• Covering developing an in-depth understanding of the group's product range, including currency risk hedging products, strategies, and cash management services
• Providing technical support and guidance to clients, partners, and internal teams
• Working closely with the product development team to gather market feedback and suggest product enhancements
• Fostering a culture of continuous improvement by proactively identifying new opportunities and refining strategies
• Defining and executing the product roadmap while setting clear success metrics.
Requirements:
• Minimum bachelor's degree with at least 6 years' experience in relationship management, product specialist or relevant discipline;
• Effective communication skills capable of creating concise and impactful presentations;
• Outstanding ability to analyse problems, apply quantitative analytical approaches, and to communicate findings effectively;
• Strong commercial acumen able to advise internal and external stakeholders;
• Initiative-taker with proven history of meeting and exceeding performance targets;
• Ability to navigate large organizations and partner with stakeholders to accomplish goals; and
• Experience managing multiple deliverables in a challenging environment.
