Job Description

As part of our continued growth we are seeking a talented Senior Product Owner to play a pivotal role in delivering the next iteration of our software platform supporting our innovate automated chemistry platform.

Reporting to VP Software Engineering, you'll be working in a growing, cross functional engineering team with expertise across software, hardware, data, research and infrastructure. You'll be a natural co-ordinator able to rapidly build a shared understanding between Engineering, Chemistry, Operations, Cheminformatics, Molecular Design and the Executive. Our success is dependent on harmoniously orchestrating multiple business units and this role is key to realising our vision.

Chemify is in start-up mode and our product roadmaps are being delivered in tight iterations, to be successful in this role you'll be comfortable enabling the teams to rapidly deliver value with the purpose of learning as fast as possible. You'll own the team's agile methodology, our software roadmaps and be an internal and external champion, making our successes and learnings widely visible with an evangelist mindset. There are many opportunities to grow the remit of this role over time and to influence best practices across the company.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the development process to ensure rapidly delivery of the most impactful product features and releases.
  • Own and facilitate ceremonies such as planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, team health check ins and goal setting cadence using OKRs.
  • Design and implement modern agile practices with the goal of continuously improving the software teams value creation.
  • Work alongside internal teams to distil customer needs and translate these into actionable delivery.
  • Ensure continuous alignment of the product vision with the company's strategic goals.
  • Curate an impactful product backlog, ensuring that the team is working on the highest-value items with a willingness to rapidly switch gears in step with the evolution of the technology platform.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment, influencing colleagues to achieve their best professional growth.

Skills and Qualifications

  • 5+ years' experience in Product Owner roles enabling teams to deliver impactful software.
  • Strong technical background, preferably in relevant domains such as laboratory automation, drug discovery, cheminformatics or manufacturing.
  • A player-coach who can execute alongside their team to deliver the needs of the customer first.
  • High EQ: bring technical and business acumen, compassion to the team, and someone who can help scale Chemify to the next level.
  • A low-ego and open-minded driver of value who cares deeply about their colleagues, a natural networker and problem solver.
  • Ability to work from our Glasgow based office.

Beneficial Skills

  • Experience as a software or hardware engineer.
  • Interest in Mechanical engineering and robotics.
  • Experience within AI, Life Sciences or Laboratory Automation domains.
  • Contribution to product and / or agile practice communities.
  • Exposure to cloud native technology stacks on AWS, Azure or GCP.
