Role Overview

Hilo is building the future of health monitoring - and we need a Senior PM who can help us get there faster and smarter.

This isn't a process-management role. We're looking for someone who genuinely loves products, works with warmth and high EQ, and brings both strategic clarity and the ability to inspire a team to build great things. You think instinctively about where AI can accelerate your work and your team's - you don't wait for your company to adopt it, you're already ahead of it. You'll work closely with a small, ambitious team and have real ownership over product direction as we scale.

Core Responsibilities

Shape Product Strategy

• Own and evolve key parts of our product roadmap
• Make sharp prioritisation calls across competing opportunities with confidence and clarity
• Proactively identify opportunities to expand and strengthen our product offering

Lead with Data

• Define and evolve the product metrics framework
• Use our analytics stack (Amplitude, Metabase) to drive decisions, not just report them#
• Build a data-informed backlog, run structured experiments, and iterate relentlessly on outcomes

Embed AI into how we build

• Identify and drive opportunities to embed AI meaningfully into our product development process and user experience - you bring practical experience of what works, not just enthusiasm for what's possible
• Stay close to what's emerging and apply it pragmatically - for your own productivity and for the product itself
• Help the wider team raise its game; you lead by doing, not by advising

Drive Execution

• Write specs and requirements that engineers genuinely love to work from - precise, well-reasoned, and complete enough to eliminate ambiguity without killing autonomy
• Translate strategy into inputs that make the engineering team faster, not just informed
• Own the engineering-product-design cadence and keep it tight
• Be the person engineers come to when they want to understand the why, not just the what
• Keep the backlog healthy, prioritised, and purposeful

Collaborate & Lead

• Build strong working relationships across engineering, data, design, and commercial - people enjoy working with you
• Bring clarity and calm to complex, cross-functional initiatives
• Help grow and mentor the product team over time, with a view to taking on people management as the team expands

Requirements

Experience

• 7-10+ years of experience in Product Management
• Proven track record shaping strategy and shipping complex products in fast-moving environments
• Strong experience in data-heavy or analytics-driven product development
• Background in health tech, consumer hardware, wearables, or regulated environments is a strong plus
• Demonstrable, hands-on use of AI across your product workflow - you can speak concretely to how it has changed the way you work

Skills

• Strong product discovery, roadmap planning, and prioritisation
• Deep analytical confidence - you're at home in product data, not just summarising it
• Exceptional written communication, especially specs and requirements for engineering
• Hands-on experience with AI tooling across research, writing, prioritisation, and day-to-day workflow
