Senior Product Designer - 3 Month FTC

At OakNorth, we back the businesses that drive the economy forward. We help entrepreneurs scale, savers grow their money, and our teams deliver smarter financial solutions through a mix of entrepreneurial thinking and data driven tools. We are a product led organisation, where design and user experience are central to how we build. Our teams work in close partnership across product, engineering and data to create digital products that solve real customer problems. We value clear thinking, collaboration and a focus on outcomes over outputs.

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Product Designer to join our Customer Experience (CX) team, focusing on our CRM platform, which is used across the business every day to manage relationships, lending and customer journeys.

This role is about turning complexity into clarity: designing workflows, dashboards and tools that make data heavy tasks simple and efficient. While CRM platforms like Salesforce can be limited in terms of visual UI changes, the real design challenge lies in shaping journeys, simplifying workflows and improving usability across a wide range of needs. You will collaborate with stakeholders across Marketing, Sales, Operations, DFDs, Product and Engineering, ensuring designs balance user needs, business goals and technical feasibility.

The variety of journeys and perspectives you will cover means no two days will be the same.

You are a solution oriented thinker who enjoys creating big ideas and applying them to real customer and colleague experiences. At the same time, you care about detail, making sure every design shows the finesse and elegance of simplicity. You are open to critique, able to improve your own work as well as support others, and you give feedback in a way that helps the team grow and produce better outcomes together.

This is a hands on role. You will run research, map user journeys, create prototypes, test with users and deliver high quality interfaces. You will also help grow our design practice by contributing to the design system, setting standards for internal tools and raising the bar for quality. Your first major project will be a high impact one: working closely with the Product Design Director to set the design principles and strategy for how we approach CRM at OakNorth, creating a foundation for consistency and scalability.

What You'll Be Working On

    • Lead design for CRM features and internal tools that support customer facing teams
    • Partner with Marketing, Sales, Operations, DFDs, Product and Engineering to identify needs and priorities
    • Conduct research with internal users and turn insights into effective design solutions
    • Simplify workflows and data heavy interfaces for usability and efficiency
    • Deliver user journeys, wireframes, prototypes and high fidelity designs for web based tools
    • Contribute to and evolve the design system, with a focus on CRM components
    • Test designs with users, gather feedback and iterate quickly
    • Participate in design reviews, provide feedback and mentor other designers
    • Ensure accessibility and inclusive design standards are met

You May Be a Good Fit If You

    • 5-7 years of product design experience, ideally with CRM, internal tools or complex systems
    • A strong portfolio showing end to end product design across UX and UI
    • Experience with CRM platforms such as Salesforce, HubSpot or custom systems
    • Proficiency in Figma and prototyping tools
    • Visual design experience with proficiency in typography, desktop/mobile UI, colour, layout, iconography, and aesthetic sense
    • Experience building and maintaining design systems
    • Understanding of web development and ability to collaborate closely with engineers
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
    • Knowledge of accessibility and inclusive design practices
    • A solution oriented mindset with the ability to generate big ideas while focusing on detail and
    • simplicity
