We are looking to bring onboard an enterprising procurement professional to support, influence and contribute to the overall strategic direction and operational performance of the charity to deliver a 'best in class' category management model and approach delivering a solution focused procurement service.

As a senior procurement business partner, you will work in tandem with cross functional teams across all Marie Curie Directorates supporting the delivery of a high-quality procurement service. You will apply both innovative and progressive methodology for designated expenditure projects resulting in commercially astute contracts that deliver tangible solution focused outcomes and 'value for money' benefits.

You will be responsible for:

  • Working collaboratively with the outsourced procurement partner to meet the needs of the charity by providing professional expert advice and support.
  • Proactively analysing designated spend categories with an element of project and programme management, with consideration to opportunity and risk, to establish a rolling programme of category reviews and procurement pipeline activities aligned to the needs of Marie Curie.
  • Developing Procurement Strategies at various levels of expenditure categories; category, sub-category and individual purchase/contract.
  • Day to day supply management of the outsourced procurement partner to plan and coordinate workload to ensure timely and effective closure of tasks across the whole of procurement.
  • Identifying any procurement improvement opportunities, making recommendations and lead or support implementation as required.

Key Criteria:

  • Substantial procurement experience across a variety of categories.
  • Strong understanding of procurement strategies, processes and supply chain principles.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively and influence across all levels.
  • Robust negotiation and persuasion skills.
  • Experience identifying keys risks, showing mitigation and optimising opportunities in the supply chain.
  • Degree level or equivalent and full membership of CIPS would be an advantage

Salary: Up to £63,000 depending on experience

Contract: Permanent

Based: This role is predominantly home-based and can be based anywhere within the UK. You will be expected to travel to our modern open plan offices in Embassy Gardens (One day per week).
