Job Description

Working as part of the global privacy team to assist with the following key workstreams;

• Report data breaches to the data protection authorities, liaising regularly with the ICO and DPC, conducting internal assessments to determine whether an incident is reportable and advising the business on the next steps. Partaking in the Data Breach Management Process and working closely with Information Security to investigate the incident and provide solutions.
• Experience managing a Privacy Lawyer and generally supporting the direction of the wider Privacy Team.
• Engage in various industry forums such as Single Customer View, the European Betting and Gaming Association and stay on top of the Gambling Commission's new changes such as, Affordability and Financial Vulnerability measures.
• Attend DPO industry wide working groups to stay up to date with relevant privacy developments in the gambling sector.
• Provide strategic advice to the business on key projects for the retail and online business that involve complex data issues such as facial recognition, AI and sophisticated algorithms.
• Support the business on M&A transactions that involve personal data, completing due diligence assessments and evaluating marketing and database plans for integration and disintegration efforts. Advising the privacy team on next steps with a ROPA, privacy notices and relevant documentation to develop the Entain privacy programme.
• Support the UK business on various complex data sharing initiatives such as Single Customer View and Affordability, working with the Chief Privacy Officer on defining strategy and creating the appropriate privacy documentation for the wider industry.
• Experience with US privacy laws - supporting our joint venture on US privacy queries and building the privacy programme with focus on Colorado, California, Virginia and understanding the data infrastructure for data mapping purposes.
• Attend various Executive and Senior Leadership Committees covering privacy for retail, online, legal and compliance, sometimes being asked to present data privacy updates.
• Supporting the AI Governance Programme at Entain and providing strategic advice to the Governance team.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified lawyer.
• DPO experience for a global organization.
• Extensive experience either in-house or at a law firm.
• Previous experience and knowledge of data protection laws, particularly the UK General Data Protection Regulation and other international data protection legislation.
• Degree-level qualified, such as Legal, Privacy or IT/Comms degree with a compliance add on.
• Commercial contract experience.
• Good attitude and solid work approach.
• Multi-tasker, inquisitive and proactive self-starter and able to work with tight deadlines.
• Can fulfil responsibilities with no supervision whilst maintaining effective communication with the Privacy Lawyers' / other DPOs and the rest of the privacy team.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills to correspond with customers, suppliers and senior stakeholders across various teams and departments
• High degree of discretion and confidentiality in handling often sensitive team and business issues. experience or knowledge with the OneTrust data privacy tool.
• Relevant professional qualifications e.g. IAPP CIPM or CIPP/E.
