Senior/Principal Planner

My client is a multi- disciplinary, planning led consultancy. They are looking for a Senior/Principal Planner to join their team in Cheltenham. With an excellent track record for the successful delivery of Planning applications on various projects. My client has a wide-ranging project portfolio from renewable energy, mineral extraction/restoration, leisure, residential and rural based developments.

You will:

• Lead and manage planning projects from inception to completion, including overseeing development proposals, conducting feasibility studies, and evaluating planning applications.
• Develop and implement planning policies and strategies that promote sustainable development, environmental conservation, and community engagement.
• Coordinate with internal teams, external consultants, and stakeholders to ensure that planning efforts are aligned with the city's overall vision and goals.
• Engage with the community through public meetings, workshops, and outreach efforts to gather input and feedback on planning initiatives.
• Stay abreast of local, national, and international trends in urban planning and development, and incorporate best practices into planning policies and projects.
• Provide expert advice and guidance to senior management, elected officials, and other stakeholders on planning-related matters.
