Responsibilities
We have an excellent opportunity for a Senior / Principal Consultant to join our successful Environmental Consents Team based in Bristol/ Cardiff/ Shrewsbury/ London.
EIA coordination and planning are integral to our aspirations for growth within the Environmental Consents team. This service continues to expand, and we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced environmental planner/coordinator, who has experience working with environmental stakeholders. The right person will help us to drive forward our work in this area, helping us to deliver our exciting and diverse Action Plan. They will lead the delivery of an expanding portfolio of projects alongside providing support, advice and guidance to multi-disciplinary projects across the business where consent is required.
Our current projects range from:
- leading consenting and environmental stakeholder management activities for Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects and major Town and Country Planning Act applications;
- managing the organisation and delivery and reporting of environmental stakeholder engagement for individual sites;
- providing technical advice to a range of private and public sector clients, including numerous developers such as Nuclear Waste Services, Heathrow Airport, Bristol Airport, Cadent Gas, EDF, Luton Airport and National Grid.
Working across our established Environmental Planning Team and with other colleagues across the Environmental Planning and Environmental Management and Assessment divisions, will assist in growing our business throughout the UK as well as leading the workstream for existing clients. You will act as project manager on commissions and as part of wider multi-disciplinary teams with responsibility for ensuring that project work is delivered on time and to budget.
Qualifications
- RTPI/IEMA qualified (or equivalent)
- Experience in the delivery of environmental engagement, preferably for applications under the Planning Act 2008 or large infrastructure related projects
- You will have strong experience working in a consultancy environment, with a track record in the development, design, delivery and reporting of engagement programmes, and proven success in client management and business development
- Excellent report writing and verbal communication skills are a requirement for this role (public speaking experience an advantage)
- You will have the ambition and ability to develop new client relationships, to help build our business and to manage key clients.
- Ability to travel to site and/or client offices as required.
