Dyer & Butler are seeking a Contracts Manager to join our Aviation team. We are excited to present this new opportunity for a talented Contracts Manager Who is looking to be involved on a variety of challenging client services. Focused on safety, compliance and delivery.
Managing our Resilience service teams delivery teams, providing technical services for a range of resilience and contingency related disciplines, and activities, focused on delivering great service everyday supporting our clients' primary assets to enable an extraordinary airport, fit for the future.
Primarily supporting our Aviation client in Hounslow - this role is suitable for experienced Contracts Manager or Project Managers looking to progress their career to the next level.
Role Purpose:
The Contract Manager's purpose is to take ownership of all projects and services under their control; from client-liaison & early contract involvement, tender, delivery to close-out and hand-over.
They will manage a resilience, compliance, solutions and training delivery team, including the line-management of related Managers, effectively managing resources and delivering quality. Focused on best use of resource and skills, to deliver great quality, safely while maintaining compliance with internal and client needs.
The Contracts Manager will have Commercial ownership of the resilience framework and related activities, and will work closely with the Operations Manager and the Commercial team, to ensure that risks and issues are managed effectively allowing successful delivery.
Maintaining excellent communication between all departments of the internal team and wider business units, leading delivery and quality solutions specifically targeted at delivering what we promise. Controlling and delivering our contractual KPI's.
Key duties & responsibilities:
- Monitor the performance of staff under their control and multiple site activities. Carry out staff performance reviews and manage other employee related matters when necessary.
- Work with the Operations Manager to develop new project opportunities, growing the business together.
- Ensure the efficient management of resources to provide safe delivery of a quality end-product with minimum risk to the environment. Implementing company systems to ensure competent labour and sub-contractors are available to deliver work safely and economically
- Manage the tender process for projects you are responsible for and ensure that competitive bids are produced with adequate resources for delivery health, safety and environmental issues
- Understand the contract including all relevant obligations and commitments. Typically limited to the NEC3 and NEC4 series of contracts but may include other common forms or client bespoke agreements
- Ensure contract cost is controlled and value is correctly recovered (including managing reimbursable costs and change/variations) to ensure commercial success
- Promote the company values of Safety, People, Delivery, Integrity to your team through leadership and to the client through engagement.
- Liaise with key client contacts and foster a positive and collaborative working relationship with all current and potential sources of viable work.
- Comply with the Client specification and the Company policies and procedures; ensuring that Dyer & Butler meets their obligations under law and the current ISO accreditations.
Qualifying Criteria:
- Commitment to the highest practicable standards of health & safety, quality and environmental protection.
- Drive and passion to win work and deliver excellence continuously.
- Operational experience and ability to drive Dyer and Butler's values and behaviours.
- Proven capability in delivering client services. Ranging from numerous smaller contracts to large multi-million-pound contracts.
- Strong grasp of commercial responsibilities.
- High standard of presentation skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage work efficiently between multiple projects.
- Contribute to the enhancement of the quality of delivery solutions by identifying and introducing improvement opportunities.
- Share knowledge and coach other team members in order to support improvements in team's performance.
- A proven ability to manage and track contracts from tender through to completion.
- Excellent communications skills and ability to work well with other teams and departments at all levels both internally and externally, including client liaison.
- Excellent data management and Quality Control.
- Keep up to date with legislations and current industry standards.
- A thorough understanding of SHEQ duties
- SMSTS or equivalent Site Management Training
- Holder of CSCS accreditation
- Desire for self-development and continuous self-improvement.
- Full UK driving license
- 5yr Traceable employment
Desirable:
- NVQ L6 Construction Contracting Operations Management or equivalent
- Relevant Degree/HND or equivalent.
- Previous experience in an operations management delivery role
- Experience working within the operations, engineering, infrastructure and aviation sectors
