As a Senior/Principal Control Systems Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing advanced control systems that drive our mission forward.
How You'll Make an Impact
- Innovate and Modernise: Develop solutions to replace obsolete equipment and parts, ensuring the longevity and efficiency of our gas turbine fleet.
- Create and Implement: Convert these solutions into generic replacement kits and parts for seamless retrofitting.
- Software Development: Write complex software modules from philosophy documents or transform obsolete control systems into modern, software-driven solutions.
- Hardware Design: Design and construct new hardware solutions to replace outdated control systems or upgrade existing ones.
- Problem-Solving: Identify and rectify issues during software/hardware testing and support the commissioning team during equipment/software installation.
- Support Sales: Provide detailed quotes, including engineering times, potential hardware requirements, and possible engineering solutions for customer inquiries.
What You Bring
- Educational Background: A degree or equivalent professional accreditation in an engineering discipline, preferably related to Controls, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Software.
- Industry Experience: Hands-on experience with industrial control systems applications and industrial IT networks. Specific experience with Rockwell/Allan Bradley Control Logix or Siemens PCS7 Control Systems is advantageous.
- Technical Proficiency: Working knowledge of change/configuration management tools and processes, as well as experience with IT tools and software for business analytics and project management.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience with gas turbine technology or similar industrial products for the Oil & Gas or Energy industry is beneficial. However, candidates with transferrable skills from other industries are also welcome.
- Systems Engineering: A practitioner of a Systems Engineering approach to product improvement is highly desirable.
