Thank you for your interest in the position of Senior Practitioner within Older People Social Work Service, which is part of Fife Health and Social Care Partnership.

This 36-hour post is based within Brunton House, Cowdenbeath we are looking for one Senior Practitioner to join our team to provide leadership, supervise/support staff development, assist the team manager with core operational tasks and be involved in delivering responsive assessments to the public underpinned by social work values and principles.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is passionate, skilled, innovative and people-centred.
  • Has a high standard of written work able to demonstrate analysis or synthesis of complex information.
  • Confident in knowledge of legislative frameworks.
  • Skilled communicator with an ability to show leadership in practice.
  • Experience of supervision/coaching/mentoring of colleagues.
  • Has a sound knowledge of risk and is able to demonstrate enabling practice in relation to this.
  • Ideally the practitioner will have experience of working with older people and significant insight into the challenges and opportunities this work provides.

The essential qualifications for this post are

You will be a qualified Social Worker (holding a BA (Hons) Social Work or MSc in Social Work), you will have extensive experience of working within statutory frameworks supporting adults in the community. You will hold an accredited post-qualifying award or be willing to work towards the award within the first 2 years of appointment.

As this role requires SSSC registration, the successful applicant will have three months to apply for registration.

The ability to travel throughout Fife is a requirement.
