We are recruiting a full-time Senior Practitioner Safeguarding Co-ordinator.
This permanent role is for a registered social worker with a proven record of being able to work in partnership with colleagues and partners to support and manage change in safeguarding adults. You must be confident in supporting learning and reflective practice and advising on complex safeguarding enquiries.
The work of the Safeguarding Development Team is focused on supporting and enhancing safeguarding practice within Adult Social Care and Health.
The role requires the successful candidate to be linked to a number of operational teams to provide support as required. A significant part of this role is to attend MARAC meetings as the representative for Adult Social Care and Health and to take forward any associated MARAC development work. You will be required to undertake planned and random audits and engage in quality assurance work to ensure good practice and learning is identified and acted on.
In addition, there will be a need to review and develop guidance to ensure statutory duties and effective practice is communicated to colleagues and partners. You will need to prepare presentations and briefings on a range of safeguarding topics, including learning from Safeguarding Adult Reviews. There will also be exciting opportunities to support the work of the Safeguarding Adults Board and engage with key partner agencies to ensure there is consistency in local safeguarding practice.
We are looking for candidates who
- Have extensive knowledge about Safeguarding Adults Policy and Procedures and relevant legislation.
- Have experience of undertaking safeguarding enquiries.
- Can communicate effectively with colleagues, health professionals, members of the public and other agencies.
- Are able to write and present information to a very high standard.
- Have a commitment to equal opportunities and anti- discriminatory practice.
