Are you an experienced, innovative Occupational Therapist ready to take the next step into a clinical leadership role? If your answer is yes, an opportunity has arisen for a Senior Practitioner Occupational Therapist to join the Housing Occupational Therapy team.

East Sussex County Council is committed to supporting residents to live safely and independently within their own homes. We are seeking a dedicated Senior Practitioner Occupational Therapist to join our Housing Adaptations Team, working collaboratively across housing and social care to deliver practical solutions that make a real difference to people's lives.

You will be responsible for supervising and undertaking person-centred functional assessments in people's homes and recommending appropriate housing adaptations to promote independence, safety and wellbeing. This includes both minor and major adaptations funded through Disabled Facilities Grants and other local authority funding streams. You will also be responsible for completing housing needs assessment to provide recommendations to support housing decisions ensuring individuals are matched to accommodation that meets their long-term needs.

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • An Occupational Therapy qualification and registration with the professional regulatory body
  • Experience of supervising staff to assist/oversee work within the team, including safeguarding work
  • Ability to plan and organise a varied workload for self and others, working to short deadlines within community settings
  • Experience of operating under pressure where demand is constant and priorities need to be set/reviewed
