Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Formal Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) training, with current professional registration with a professional body HCPC, BPS, BACP. or other relevant core qualification: such as SWP • Core profession with valid registration of professional body e.g. RMN, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, CBT therapist. (NMC, Social Work England, BACP, HCPC). Senior wellbeing practioner Certificate in Supervision Skills and/or willingness to complete as part of the Senior role within the team.
Desirable criteria
- Post Graduate clinical supervision training/qualification (e.g. CYP IAPT) or a willingness to attend identified training
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of specialist mental health assessment and therapeutic interventions with children and young people with mental health problems and their families. • Clinical experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team. • Experience of working autonomously utilising a range of therapeutic perspectives and modalities. • Expertise in assessing and managing risk: including safeguarding, completion of effective risk management plans and liaison with other relevant agencies. • Experience of providing evidenced based assessments, formulations and treatment packages and effectively utilising ROMS. • Experience of gathering clinical evidence, reports and information as part of signposting to other internal or external pathways. • Excellent working knowledge and understanding of the importance of Clinical Governance and it's application within the role of Senior Practitioner. • Experience of supervision of others as well as supporting the emotional health and wellbeing of junior staff and trainees. • Must be able to develop and evaluate training to other professionals and staff groups.
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working with children and young people in a variety of community settings. • Experience working with ASD, ADHD and/or other learning difficulties. • Experience of delivering training and consultation to education staff and professionals.
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Knowledge of legislation relating to children's mental health • Knowledge of MH issues relating to CYP emotional development. • Must demonstrate a working understanding of systemic, psychodynamic and cognitive theories along with recognition of when each approach is appropriate. • High level knowledge of the theory and practice of short term and long-term clinical interventions in CAMHS. • Knowledge of legislation in relation to children and adolescents and safeguarding procedures and policies. • Knowledge of outcome measures for CYP. • Knowledge of and ability to develop performance management, continuous improvement and quality assurance processes. • Must demonstrate knowledge of audit and evaluation methodology. • Must demonstrate an understanding of current government initiatives underpinning service developments.
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of the theory and practice of at least two specialised therapies/intervention. • Level of knowledge of research methodology and data analysis as practiced within the clinical fields of child and adolescent mental health.
Skills
Essential criteria
- Skills in the use of complex methods of mental health assessment, intervention and management. • Ability to safeguard and promote the welfare of all children and young people. • Ability to work autonomously in a community setting, making appropriate decisions in complex situations. • Must demonstrate a commitment to the overall vision of the development of the professional group of mental health practitioners in education settings. • Ability to provide support and facilitate personal and professional development. • Ability to manage own workload, organise own time and diary, and meet deadlines. • Ability to maintain high-quality clinical records and excellent report writing skills. • Knowledge and experience of using Microsoft word applications, including PowerPoint and excel. • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, complex, highly technical and/or clinically sensitive information to clients, their families, carers and other professional colleagues and outside the NHS. • Must demonstrate utilisation of professional development planning in own career progression.

- Willing to carry out all duties and responsibilities of the post in accordance with the Trust's Equal Opportunities and Equality and Diversity policies. • Appointments to regulated and controlled activities require an enhanced DBS disclosure. • There is a frequent requirement to travel mainly within the Bolton in order to provide support in education settings and an occasional requirement to travel across the wider footprint of the Trust to attend meetings and events relevant to the role. • The ability to work outside normal working hours as part of a school approach.
